Realizing you have roughly ten open and partially used Jello packages in your pantry results in two things. The first is straight up embarrassment because be honest, who tf has 1 box of partially used Jello let alone 10 in their pantry? And 2 we come up with creative ways to get rid of it all. Cue this super tasty and super addictive Jello soft candy.
I guess these aren’t technically soft candies. They aren’t chewy like caramel candies but more the texture of butter mints. Still, they’re delicious and frankly I didn’t know what else to call them so now they’re Jello soft candy. #socreative
Using up the Jello packs meant quite a bit of experimentation. When I finally settled on a recipe, I ended up using blue raspberry, raspberry, and lime flavors and it was surprisingly delicious.
Lately I seem to be on a candy kick. Meaning, I seem to be making a lot of homemade candy, regretting having so much candy, and pawning all the extra candy onto coworkers, neighbors, and friends. Oops.
Oh well, but from what I’ve heard from all receivers is that these candies are by far their favorites and a couple have even asked for more. To which I say girl, you’ll have to wait until I have a random amount of Jello at home again 😂.

Tips for the Perfect Jello Soft Candy

Tip #1 You May Need a Scale
Most of the Jello I had was actually the generic Kroger brand of “gelatin dessert” which is 3oz instead of 6oz like most classic Jello packages. But I did use the Jello brand blue raspberry so I simply measured out 3 oz with my handy dandy kitchen scale.
(My kitchen scale is super duper useful, if you don’t already have one, get one here and thank me later)!
Tip #2 Bench Scraper
A Bench scraper is a super handy tool for cutting dough, decorating cakes, and of course, making these candies.

Tip #3 Dry Time
Make sure you give these a full 24 hours to dry. If you don’t the candies will come across chewy and almost gummy, which isn’t a great texture combination.
Lay them flat on a baking sheet or a counter overnight.
Tip #4 Storage
Store these in an air tight container. I want to say that these can last more than a month…but they’ve never lasted that long in our house.

Occasions for this Jello Soft Candy
I really prefer to give this candy now as a gift. Like I’ve said, it’s pretty addicting and people request it a lot.
It makes a great easy gift to give at Christmas to neighbors or to those relatives that you have no idea what to get or have no money to buy a gift.
Or if you have kids, are a nanny, or just are watching some crazy hooligans this is an easy recipe to make with them. (Plus, if you’re only the fun aunt babysitting, you won’t be around to deal with the sugar high).
It’s also perfect for sitting on your desk at work. Not only do you have work snacks but the candy is so good that you’ll be making new friends as coworkers come by to steal that sweet, addictive sugar.

Easy Soft Jello Candy
Ingredients
- 3 oz Jello
- ¼ cup Sprite
- 2½-3 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- NOTE! The ingredient list is for only one color of dough. Depending on how many colors you want to make, please make sure you multiply the recipe so you get your best results!
- Combine your Jello and Sprite in a microwave safe bowl and mix them together. Heat this for 20-30 seconds in your microwave until the Jello is dissolved.
- Add 1 cup of powdered sugar and the Jello/Sprite mixture to your stand mixer bowl.
- Beat them together until combined and slowly add the rest of your powdered sugar a ¼-½ cup at a time. **
- Mix until a soft dough forms. Then on a clean surface spread an additional ¼-½ cup of powdered sugar and begin to knead the Jello dough on it until it is no longer sticky. Then immediately transfer it into a sealed container. (These doughs dry out fast so if your planning on making multi colored candies I highly suggest locking that moisture in until you are ready to make the candy).
- Repeat these steps until you have 2-3 colors.
- Once you have all of your dough colors made, begin rolling out your dough into snakes. (You know, like Play Dough snakes). It may be easiest to cut your dough into quarters or sixths first because these snakes can get long and it just makes them easier to work with.
- Then stack you different color dough snakes on top of one another and roll them together. *** You want to make sure the colors are all stuck together with no seams. You
- Once they are rolled together, use a sharp knife or pastry cutter and cut your ropes into ½ inch pieces.
- Place the candies on a silicone baking mat and ALLOW THEM TO DRY FOR 24HRS! For real, don't skip this step. You'll regret it.

Final Notes…
I feel like I should make a disclaimer about these because everyone has claimed that they’re super addicting. Which is surprising since I was just trying to get rid of my 10 boxes of partial Jello.
So! If you are on a diet (and if you are, girl, why? You’re beautiful already) or simply want to believe that you have willpower, DO NOT make these candies.
There. You have been warned. The rest is out of my hands. And when you make them, enjoy them, share them with your friends (or hoard them for yo’self – I won’t judge), and savor them. They’re delicious.
So once you’ve made these candies, take a pic, post it on the gram and make sure to tag me (@thefulfillmentpill)! I love seeing you creations and really, if you don’t post it on Instagram, did it even happen?

Interesting. I have no Sprite but we do have Bubly and diet Dr Pepper. Wonder if those would work?
I’m not 100% sure but I think the Bubly will work. The Dr Pepper will probably make it a weird color but I’m sure any clear soda should do the trick!
Thanks for responding! I was thinking of trying first with Bubly. And then perhaps cherry with Dr. Pepper. Not all that expensive if it fails 😉
Haha true. It’ll all be tasty no matter what I’m sure!
